The Bay of Plenty Creative Fibre area extends from Ohiwa Harbour near Opotiki, to Whakatane, and across to Rotorua, and up to the Tauranga area. Seven groups meet regularly, learning and sharing new skills. Teaching workshops are sometimes held. Interests of members cover a wide range including spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving, felting, embellishing, braiding etc. Several clubs exhibit on a regular basis and there is an Area exhibition biennially.

Taranaki Creative Fibre is part of a nationwide group of individuals similarly interested in fibrecrafts such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting and crochet. The Taranaki area covers from Urenui in the north to Waverley in the south. Area meetings (guild days) are held four times a year at various locations around Taranaki. The benefits of being a member include:
- Automatic affiliation to Creative Fibre.
- You receive the Creative Fibre magazine four times a year with updates on events around the country.
- You are able to attend classes run and subsidised by Creative Fibre Taranaki, attend national workshops, and undertake self directed learning courses.
- Summer and winter weekend retreats.
- Availability of books and DVDs from the Taranaki Area library and National Resource library.
- Attend the annual national festival and exhibition and enter the biennial Taranaki exhibition.

The Waikato area has 13 groups spreading from the King Country to the top of Coromandel – Cambridge, Hakarimata (Ngaruawahia area), Hamilton, Matamata, Mercury Bay, Morrinsville, Taumaranui, Taupo, Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti, Thames, Waihi and Whangamata. Several groups have day and night meetings to accommodate their members.
The Wellington Creative Fibre Area extends from Levin across to Masterton and south to Cook Straight – 13 groups meet regularly, sharing and learning new skills. Teaching workshops are offered over a wide range of the textile disciplines ranging from rank beginners to the more experienced. These include spinning, knitting, felting, weaving, textile jewellery, tapestry weaving, crochet and textile art form. Often a mixture of techniques is used in one piece of work. The small groups exhibit on a regular basis and the whole area has a major exhibition biennially. Please feel free to contact our Area Delegate for any further information.

Craft Cluster meets at The Plains Railway Museum, Moronan Road, Tinwald. at 10.00am every 1st Monday of the month.
Group specialises in felting at all skill levels and partakes in area and group projects as well as supporting member projects,with the occasional formal class or speaker. All enquiries welcome.
