Education Options available to Members of Creative Fibre

you can join the Society through a local group (see here for contacts)
or as an individual member (go to the Membership page).

Creative Fibre Magazine Don't put it away until you have read it cover to cover. Moreover, don't just read it, send in some feedback.
Tutors List Are you looking for someone to teach you craft skills?
Check here for a list of New Zealand tutors, 
with contact details and the classes they teach.
Self-directed Learning Mentor and pupil working at pre-arranged time frame and level of achievement. Small fee. Contact Pat Old.
Courses e.g. "Design" - set of specific number of modules and given time-frame.
Feedback from tutor with return of every module.
NZSWWS Certificate. Reasonable fee.

Advanced Spinners A mail spinning group made up of a network of spinners whose passion it is to investigate the potential of fleece types, new products, to analyse existing accepted methods, and to explore different yarn constructions. All this and act as a forum for problems and experiences and to share the joys of a special yarn that sings! As this group is funded by "Creative Fibre" it is only open to members of the organisation.

Cross Country Weavers Currently three groups of ten weavers. Subjects set, then samples sent from each person to other nine in group for comparison of interpretation, fibre choice and technique. Fee $5.

Tapestry Network Formed by society members but no longer necessary to belong to NZSWWS. Regular newsletter, travel suitcase collection.

Combined Textile Guild of NZ Inc. Includes wide range of fibre workers including embroiderers.

Professional Weavers Currently 39 members, many top class weavers. Annual seminar. Endeavour to have annual exhibition.

New Zealand Felters Meet annually at Festival.
A quarterly newsletter keeps felters in touch with specific felt happenings up and down the country. Subscription $10 per year.
