Creative Fibre is Creative Fibre is the New Zealand organisation for all fibre crafts. It brings together spinners, weavers, knitters, dyers, flax workers, felters, crocheters, free form fibre artists and all other people involved in the use of fibre. Being a member of our organisation is being part of a living heritage of keeping crafts alive. We have over 3,000 members throughout New Zealand and around the world whose passion is fibrecrafts, learning from people with similar ideas and enjoying their friendship.
There are 15 Creative Fibre Areas arund New Zealand, each with an Area Delegate and committee that includes representatives from the groups in the area. Each area is autonomous so their activities vary but all provide interest and activities such as workshops, retreats, spin-ins and exhibitions. We offer a full Education, programme including , a self-directed learning scheme, study collections which travel the country to inspire and educate members, workshops and lectures.correspondence courses
Our annual affiliation fee entitles you to our quarterly magazine Creative Fibre, access to our extensive resource library, the opportunity to exhibit at our national and area exhibition, and to register for our annual festival, held in a different location each year in New Zealand.
