We also have an enthusiastic weaving group which meets monthly in the St Luke’s Church Hall. We have a yearly programme covering fibre-related subjects of interest to members and we aim to help our members with any problems which arise and stimulate their interest in our craft with sharing of ideas in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Visitors are welcome.

Taieri Spinners and Weavers/Creative Fibre are an enthusiastic and friendly group of people who meet up regularly. Our interests are many and varied, from spinning and weaving, knitting and crochet, felting, and any other fibrecraft that takes our fancy.

We have three formal meetings a year, and social days (at the Mosgiel Presbyterian Church) two or three times a month, where people can bring along whatever projects they are working on. Be inspired by show and tell, and have some fun with our auction table where members donate and buy all sorts of items. We often have classes and mini-workshops at these social days.

Our weavers meet up once a month at a member’s home, and our spinners have a home based get-together too. We also have an monthly evening meeting to cater for those members who can’t come during the day. We have a library of books, dvd’s, magazines and equipment for members to use.

With an average of 12 members in our group, we meet every alternate Monday, except public holidays. We meet in the Emanuel Church Hall in Sawyers Bay which is very warm and well lit. We have great facilities and a working kitchen. There is also an extra room for food tables if we have a larger group than usual, such as when we host the Otago area meeting, or members from other groups.
